I have recently had some people ask me why they have to pay a courier fee when ordering their goodies from myfertility.co.nz
Lets break this down...
🌸 The reason it costs money, is because a person actually picks up your package, and ferries it back to their depot. Then another person sorts it to make sure it goes to the right place, and then another person puts in it the delivery vehicle. Then your delivery driver delivers it to your door - like magic!
🌸 When you pay a courier fee, you are not only recieving the benefits of having your goods delivered to you door (which saves you time and energy), you are paying someones wage.
🌸 A recent industry change has meant that courier costs have increased - this was to recognise the hard work that our courier drivers put in every day, and to compensate them more fairly for that work - pretty cool huh?
🌸 Next time you see a courier fee, just think about how cool it is that for just $5 or $10 if you live rurally - you can have your purchases delivered to you door!
🌸 It also might surprise you to know that the actual cost of sending you your package, is far more than what you have actually paid. To keep the courier fees nice round numbers, I have not increased them to their true cost.
🌸 Yes there are some companies out there that have free shipping - and that is awesome! Just remember that those companies are either working with larger margins, or have such a high turnover that they can cover the cost.
===> I use Posthaste couriers, who have in the 4 years of using them have only misplaced a handful of packages. The driver that collects your packages is amazing, and does a fantastic job - always with a smile. I am actually so happy that this industry change better reflects his hard work, and committment to ensuring you get your orders as quickly as possible.
